Krio "Kwee-o" Marie Stenger

(ca. 2007 – March 23, 2022) (age 15)

Krio, the GSD/Husky mix, passed peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the tender old age of 15. She was a rescue pup, adopted in March of 2011. She was estimated to be 4 years old at the time. Her right eye was severely infected and ultimately had to be removed a year later.

Krio was a gentle, shy, and quiet cyclops. She was protective of those she loved and, although uncertain at first, warmed quickly to anyone who offered her pets. Krio enjoyed sleeping in the middle of the kitchen/living room/hall intersection, patrolling her backyard, and ominously watching people from around corners. Her favorite snacks were dentastix, beggin' strips, freshly fallen snow, and the cheese slices that hid her medications.

She is greatly missed by her moms, Rikki and Heather Stenger and their sons, Xavier and Logan. She is also missed by her little "annoying" cat sister, Vici. Her family asks that anyone considering a new, furry family member, consider rescuing an adult/older animal who needs a furever home. Donations to the Jefferson Co. Animal Shelter are also appreciated.
